very nice ,it seems to be more definite in operation ,responding to touch etc .,few extra apps (nice).
it shows Terminal in the list of installed apps , BUT no icon appears ?  (again ).

  the link also ,does not identify what you are downloading   plasma/phosh/gnome ?

The terminal shows but there is no icon? What?

And what link are you talking about? If you're talking about the images here, it literally has the UI right in the file name.

I think they mean this issue. And yes, in your link the image file name is pine64-pinephone-20200410.img.xz which does not literally have UI right in the file name.

Oops, I forgot to include the phosh name in the image filename...

The terminal not showing up is an issue in phosh itself. hasn't been fixed yet. Current workaround is installing gnome-terminal.

There will be a new image pushed Soon™ which has a 5.6 kernel, I'll add both terminals to that one.

Huh interesting, I did not see that image listed on the page I linked. Guess that's my mistake then, sorry.

And with no icon you mean there is no entry for the terminal at all then, not even the text. That is indeed a known bug, but I thought you were talking about something new.

i think if you use apk update && apk upgrade -y   ,you still need to flash the image ocasionaly to get anything in the read only portion updated.

 i feel sure someone with more knowledge will put us right .

 i split it up and ," apk update ", so i can see/ or list  what is being updated, then run "apk upgrade ".

We don't have a read-only partition, so "apk update && apk upgrade -a" (note that -a switch) will always get you the latest available. No need to reflash the image.

Actually, you can just run "apk upgrade -i" (the -i switch) to see what is getting updated before you actually update.
