I'm denied a coupon to preorder. Guess there's no helping it ;(
I got the message "your login worked, but you're intelligible for preorder..." Also, I would like an ANSI keyboard, which is supposed to be coming. That being said, should I check back in a month, or had this become a Christmas present, or will it be longer?
Quote:"When fulfilling the purchase, please bear in mind that we are offering the Pinebook Pro at this price as a community service to PINE64, Linux and BSD communities. We make no profit from selling these units."
Thank you!
Not to remove focus from anything, but if it would help to have donations, sales of other items already stocked (e.g. Pinebook plastic shipping boxes), etc., please give us options. It is important to keep the magic happening!

Is there a notification mechanism that we can subscribe to for when sales are open to the general public?

Thanks.
(Although I was thinking more like an email notification or something else like that, rather than something I have to monitor periodically...)
I guess I should have expected a cock-up in ordering - as with the first pinebook -
then: "oops we lost your code - back of the line" delayed months
this time "oops we screwed up the passwords, too bad for you" - delayed for ???
Took a chargeback threat and public shaming to even get a response from "customer service" after receiving a broken screen with the first one.
So - Pine - still good hardware and community support, still flakey to bad ordering and customer service, even for long time customers.
Maybe I will be less frustrated when the coupon eventually arrives, but for now - moving on to something else.
Unfortunately, all my friends are now aware of the hassles of ordering a pinebook, and are also looking elsewhere for now. Several were hoping to be able to get one for the fall semester at school.
How long is it taking for you to get the coupon code?
I went to the preorder page early Thursday morning (around 7 am Pacific), logged in, and got the message that I qualified and would receive a coupon code. I received a confirmation email shortly afterwards. But so far, nothing further... Going back to the Pine store, it now looks like I would be able to order a Pinebook Pro in the conventional way - except I don't want to, because I qualified for the 128 GB free upgrade!
Does this mean I missed the first batch of 100 and need to wait? Do I still get the free 128 GB upgrade that I qualified for even if I have to wait for the second batch?

You did miss the batch of 100, by a couple hours. It filled up in not much more than two minutes. The second batch still gets the 128GB upgrade.
Also, you have to have the coupon code to order from the store, and that will be the case for at least a month or two.
