Want a 64GB eMMC PineTab upgrade?
#1
Question
We are considering upgrading the PineTab with 64GB eMMC. This would mean that it would mean it would retail for $99 ($118.99 with keyboard). Or would you prefer that we keep the original price of $79 with 16GB of eMMC ($99.99 with keyboard)?

Hi
New member here. Personally I would prefer 64GB, although I remember reading somewhere that members of this forum could get a free upgrade to 128GB (That's the main reason I registered).
Is it known when the Pinetab will be available in the store? Thanks for all the hard work!

I believe that was just the PineBook Pro. (?)

I think a 64gb storage module makes the PineTab much more attractive, especially at that price point. In fact, an argument can be made that in the current age, 16gb is so small as to be nearly useless as a daily driver. Go 64gb!

That would be fine as well, but first things first. I must confess my excitement about this tablet, because I haven't used anything else than Linux for almost fifteen years. The problem is that getting a working tablet has proven to be a real hassle. So this could be THE solution for people like me...

ubuntu touch works rather well on the nexus 7 as well as a few other recent tablets. you can get a nexus 7 for ~35 to 100USD. so i would guess the pinetab already has a few hurdles in competition. the nexus 7 (2013) has 32GB which i have found is more than enough for my use case. i agree that 16GB is not enough though. i'd like to see minimum 3GB RAM.

64GB eMMC would be nice but not a must, Probably will be buying one either way Angel

Thanks guys for considering putting more storage into the PineTab.

64GB makes it a lot more attractive as an everyday device and for only an extra $20, there's no question I'd go with the higher storage.

Thanks!

The 128GB upgrade is just for the Pinebook Pro and doesn't relate to any other products.

am I the only one impressed by this?

not the potential storage upgrade, but the fact that a forum members posts a suggestion, and a day later there is a poll and serious consideration to make the change.

Thank you for the appreciation ... we'd like to think that users have grown accustomed to this by now, so its no longer a shocker.
