Also, I’m wondering what the tar file is used for?

I plan on using this device for streaming 1080p on Kodi mainly. Does it perform that well right now. I didn’t enough research I guess because I wasn’t aware it was so new in development.

Thanks for any help!

Please refer to the wiki NOOB section for detailed explanation on how to flash images - this image flashes like any other.

Thank you for the link that will help a lot with the flashing process. I’m still curious to know what the TAR file is for and how well the rock64 streams on Kodi if anybody has any input on that.

The TAR file is for updates. You only need to flash the img ones. After that you can just place the tar in /storage/.update and reboot. LibreELEC will upgrade or downgrade to my latest or previous version.
Okay that makes sense. Thank you for helping!

Image doesn't boot from either SD or eMMC. No LED activity, SOC cold, partition doesn't get expanded, no logs.
You can find me on IRC, Discord and Twitter

Huuh I tested only tar update no fresh flash. There were some changes to u-boot recently in LibreELEC I guess that's related.

@Luke I've remove the old files from github. I will reupload fixed img.gz and tar's in a second. Thanks for quickly reporting the issue.

Please read the release post in Github. Rockchip is in a seperate branch. I'd also suggest not to use the release zip and rather clone or download the seperate branches. Github Releases do not support multiple branches and I don't want to create different git tags.

Thanks Ray, I will do that, didn't realize you were purposely omitting it Smile Is the recent issue that Luke mentioned today already resolved in the github source, or should I wait to download/clone until it's committed?

No hard feelings. It's resolved you can download it.
That is the fix and also the current state for rb-leia16

@Raybuntu - when I try to compile I end up with "./libxml/encoding.h:29:19: fatal error: iconv.h: no such file or directory", #include <icon.v>
Obviously you can compile fine so I'm wondering if you have any tips or thoughts? I'm using cygwin64 on my win7 pc to compile. It runs for a good couple hours before it terminates.
