Fan controll
#1
Question
I was wondering if it is possible to have fan-speed-controll automated on the pine. I got my hands on a fan similar to this and was planing to combine this with a 20x20 heatsink, but I dont want the fan to go on 9k rpm all the time.

In "worst case scenario" I guess I have to make a custom case for the pine so there is room to make a controll-unit using an Arduino nano but I hope there is an easier way to do this.

For the record I am going to go with Android as OS.

Heh, I just bought some of those exact fans, they arrived today. They are really small!

I may use these or may go with some slightly larger 40mm fans, haven't decided yet.

Didn't even consider any kind of fan control, was just going to wire into 5v and leave them.

How were you planning to mount that tiny 20mm fan?

(I also bought some 20mm heat sinks!)

Not quite shure yet, but was thinking on just gluing it to the case (where I will make the holes for the airflow) or even gluing it directly to the heatsink.
I have ordered a few 20x20x15 and some 20x20x10 heatsinks to use with the fan. I just have to see what makes the best fit Smile

Cool. I'm making an enclosure out of an old Gameboy case. Will probably mount the fan (20mm) in the hole where the d-pad went. It seems to fit very well Smile

Sounds awsome. You'll have to post some pictures of it when you are done Smile
