Axolotl on PinePhone / Mobian
I just noticed that I can no longer send OR recieve pictures via Axolotl (using the latest available .deb-Version "axolotl_1.5.0-1_arm64.deb"). Two days ago recieving still worked (sending is broken for longer) - Do others have the same problem? Did Signal again change something? Sad

Just in time:

v1.6.0 is out with plenty of fixes - also for your bug, dante404 (Signal renewed their root ca-cert in the last days).

Download&Installation via
Code:
wget https://github.com/nanu-c/axolotl/releases/download/v1.6.0/axolotl_1.6.0-1_arm64.deb && sudo apt install ./axolotl_1.6.0-1_arm64.deb

Backup of the textsecure.nanuc folders in .local/share and .config is recommended since a lot changed in the background.

nanu-c and Blackoverflow did a great job here!

Cheers!

P.S.: First start of v1.6.0 might take a while in order to download the electron binary - as usual ~80Mb.

EDIT: Old chats are not lost. Wait for the counterpart to send a message, then the chat history is back.

Didn't work for me. It just flatly kept telling me it can't connect to Signal's servers, perhaps I should unregister and register again.
The captcha is frustrating, the images are so small that it took me quite a while to get through, but eventually I did. Then it told me to enter the six digit code. Well, last time, in early september, I got the SMS from signal. This time not.

Next time I launched it just asked me for a username, so I guess it let me pass without. But then when I tried to add someone to the contacts list, nothing happened.

Sadly, there are some regressions in v1.6.0 regarding the internal data structure and hotfixes are prepared as fast as it is possible.

I assume, you are using Axolotl on Arch/Manjaro. As written in the previous post, there are some internal bugs to be fixed and the devs are on it. I will try to reproduce your issue with one of the latest Arch/Manjaro images.

Hello there,

sadly, I cannot recommend to use Axolotl at the moment. There are too many bugs and regressions to be fixed... The team is working their best, but it'll take some more time to make the app usable again.

Sorry for that...

Strange, I missed one message (image) the last days (AFAIK), but otherwise it seems to work still OK here (use axolotl every day, chatting with multiple different persons). Huh

BTW thanks for your work on Axolotl! Smile
