Rockpro64 Sata Card kills itself

Unfortunately, this is not working for me. I am able to create a raid1, but it is degraded, right after creating a filesystem (ext4) on it.
It seems, one disk is thrown off, while creating the filesystem.

I spoke too soon there. Only after day or two later that card started giving error even with ncq disabled. I replaced it with Marvell 9215 card and so far all good. Keeping my fingers crossed

The issues are gone using a proper power supply. 
The use of the official psu(12v/5A) with the official sata2-interface-card gave me the errors, mentioned above. 
Upgrading to a 12V/7.5A psu (Leicke NT33402) resolved those issues.

That's interesting. For me 12V/6A PSU didn't work and neither did using the card in ATX PC setup. Maybe my Pine sata card was from bad and yours from not so bad batch I ordered mine mid October.

In my case it was a faulty SATA cable. I'd suggest you to check it before everything other.

Before I try changing the SATA interface, I need to know if it's ok with somebody.

I think I am having a similar issue with RockPRO64, SATA card similar to the Pine64 one (same chipset, https://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B018XCUPDS) and 12V 5A PSU.
First, I was unable to have 2 HD (HGST 8TB) powered at the same time.
At least one was not spinning normally (looping clicking sound) even when they are not even connected to the SATA cable. So it seems to me the 5A PSU is not delivering enough power.
With only one HD, it seems to work fine, but when I try to mkfs the HD:

I managed to solve the clicking sound with 2 HD by using another 4.2A PSU.

This makes me thing the 5A PSU is crap, and that my 4.2A is better but not powerful enough.
This would confirm that a 7.5A PSU is required to power the board with 2 7200rpm HD.

Any progress on that ?

I've added a 240G SSD with my 4T HDD for 1 week: no problem at all.

I'll keep you in touch in few weeks but for now this problem seems ok.

Sorry for the delay!
Everything were doing (almost) fine with the PSU.
I still errors but no freeze... until I installed openmediavault with the Armbian way for having OpenMediaVault 5.

It tried to plug an external disk only. Everything was very very good. So the problem comes from this PCIe Express.
I'm say was cause I bought an Odroid HC2 where I put my 4TB HDD.

I've bought a Marvell PCIe card for the RP46: It got worst. I don't see my HDD.

I'm running an Openmediavault 5 version made by Ayufan.

At first, my HDD was recognised but this thread solved my problem.

So I'm using the original PSU. I had no error disk since.

So I'm having the same issues as everyone else on this thread regarding disk errors I think i should just buy the alternative PCIe card , out of interest did you have to add the udev rule to bind your card to the driver like all the others or did it work out of the box with the ayufan image ?

Currently I'm running openmediavault on the armbian image with 4.4 kernel with all pine64 hardware , should I switch to the ayufan image and change kernel to the newest as others have mentioned ?
