The ROCKPro64 is supposed to be getting a stock version of Android, so perhaps you might want to update to that board? It also has the benefit of long-term support, something that the Rock64 doesn't have and as such will probably be dropped from development soon enough. 
I don't believe the Rock64 Development will be totally dropped as LibreELEC OS is being actively tested and developed with Rockchip employees participating. Android and Android TV Development is probably an unknown. Depending on your needs, the RockPro may be overkill when making a purchase decision. I've been using Ayufans' Android TV on my Rock64 eMMC and LibreELEC via SD Card Boot. Suits my needs.
I meant official development by the Rock64 team. I figure third-party development will stick around for a while after the team drops development.
