Since early this year my Brave Heart phone has been "usable" most of the time, for talk, sms texts.
Maybe not polished, sometimes a working release, will break with an update.
I just re-flash to the last working release.
Since Mobian has arrived, there is always a release that 'works', sometimes I do have to go back to a previous release.
That is not a huge deal when it just means flashing an sd card.
I send 20 to 40 sms texts every morning, occasionally it will quit and go back to the log-in screen. That can be frustrating, yes
but I just sign back in and continue texting.
OR when there are a bunch of mms texts plugging up the modem...
There is a 'cli fix', but I just use modem manager to clean out all the mms texts, (which are not currently usable anyhow)
The audio/talk works on some Distro's now, good enough to use, though quality is still improving.
For data, I prefer using hot spot to my laptop over the web browsers for sure, but some of the on phone browsers are getting better.
YES, the data works, at least for me it does. Using with both AT&T and T-Mobile carriers. (GSM)
The phone/modem did not see any of the 4 different Verizon sim cards that I have tried.
I am basically a GUI Linux user, So no special talent at making 'broken' systems work.
BUT I have been reading and following the forum pretty closely, looking for tips, and asking for help.
Not only was I one of the first to purchase a Brave Heart when '"Pre-orders"' first opened,
I have since purchased 3 of the PMOS Community Edition Convergence Pkg phones,
and I have a Manjaro Convergence Pkg phone on order.
* I would have stopped buying Pine phones after the Brave Heart, if they "Did Not Work" ...
Currently battery sometimes goes 10 to 16 hours under various conditions, that I have encountered.
