There are clips as well as screws. Once you've removed the screws you should be able to separate the plastic parts slightly somewhere, then put a fingernail or a thin piece of stiff plastic in the gap and slide along the join to separate the parts. The imitation credit cards in junk mail are good for this. Having said that I'm not sure there's much you can do other than reseat the connector for the buttons - maybe it'll help. Good luck.
