As ROCK64 shares the SoC with FireFly RK3288, they must work?
Not the same SoC. That Firefly board uses the RK3288. Rock64 uses the RK3328. The GPU is entirely different. (The one on 3288 is far better...)
Sorry, my bad, should have paid a better attention. Quite a bummer though
On the second look, ROCK64 has ARM Mali-450MP2 GPU which must be similar to ARM Mali-450MP4 GPU, the one found in HiSilicon Kirin 620 SoC.
That page has drivers for this one as well:
mali450r6p001rel0linux1arm64tar.gz
mali450r6p001rel0linux1armhftar.gz
Could they be of any use?
Unfortunately it's not that easy. Different chip manufacturers can implement the same GPU in totally different (and incompatible) ways. If one driver would work for all chips with the same GPU inside, the Pine64 would have had functioning Mali400 drivers since the beginning. It just doesn't work that way.
