You just select the extra boards in Backerkit, not by upgrading your existing board, but just by selecting them.
At the top of the add-ons page are the Pine64 boards. Choose 'View' on the 2GB model, choose quantity, add to cart, that's it. Choose whatever else you want, confirm your order, and you're done.
