If anything, GNU/Linux anything is A) neither "left" nor "right" but it is also B) both.
A) it is faux-Libertarian.
B) The "left" and "right" in the USA are demonatrably on the same side of the political spectrum.
The problem with smartphones is that GNU/Linux is not the solution. PalmOS (or something like it) was the solution. Don't get me wrong, the PinePhone and the like are fine for what they are. But by the time the operating system is ready for smartphone primetime, it'll just be there to launch some JVM or something like it. (Where have we seen this already?)
