Mr Fixit's debootstrap is very old. A little bit of guesswork: the signature keys come with debootstrap and are too old for the Debian Bookworm packages.
Either manually install a recent debootstrap package on Mr Fixit's Debian 9 or run in the installer from (a somewhat recent) Manjaro. For the latter, see my previous post on how flawless that worked.
