Well, about a month ago it got way worse, where some keys would input multiple characters, such as ']' that prints '2468p;' or something similar.
Left arrow triggered screenshots. Totally unusable.
I've tried to reseat the flatcable as mentioned here previously, to no avail. It is probably an internal fault in the keyboard itself, something like liquid caught between the membranes that make several lines in the matrix to trigger as the same key pressed. I had a minor water spill at that side of the keyboard more than a year ago, I thought it was nothing, but I guess that it took some time to make it's damage
I finally ordered a new keyboard and took the time to replace the keyboard, effectively disassembling and reassembling the whole laptop.
It was quite tedious, but I'm very happy that so far the thing is working perfectly, and I don't seem to have made any damage to the pinebook on the process.
I might make a postmortem dissection of the old keyboard sometime, but it's constructed with many heat-squished plastic pins that look like pain to remove.
I did see a corrosion stain under the keyboard, but it's on the left side of the keyboard so I'm not sure it's related.
Anyway I hope that's the end of the story...
