I think Pine could develop a PBP2 board to replace the main board to address many of the issues without making a new case.
This could address:
+ new SoC
+ power/battery connection usage (solve jumper wires)
+ internal USB A
+ internal-only UART console pins
+ towboot preinstalled to SPI and set to boot usb first, sd, nvme, ahci, emmc, spi, pxe last
And a few more could be address with a new case bottom:
+ add easy-access door above main board
But wouldn't address many:
- still POWER instead of DEL key
- same trackpad/keyboard firmware write cycle limits
- same USB2 on headphone/uSD card board
This could address:
