Getting all keys working on pine phone keyboard-case

Hence nobody replied anything constructive to this question for a month, I presume the EXACT instruction does not exist.
I have tried a number of help files for Manjaro, could not make the top row work as intended.
Out of the box, the AltG button just makes a bunch of "~" symbols with all 1234567890 keys.
The closest to success has been
