Same here! Often in the morning (plugged in over night), it's dead...
Currently I THINK it doesn't happen (that often?) when my phone lays NOT completely on it's backside while charing over night but gets more 'ventilation'/fresh air (and so gets less hot)...
Using encrypted Mobian (bookworm) on pmOS CE Convergence PinePhone (3GB/32GB) as Daily Driver, and Beta Edition Convergence PinePhone (3GB/32GB) with encrypted Mobian (bookworm) as Backup device.
