A working hack:

in /usr/share/X11/xkb/symbols/us

under:
Code:
name[Group1]= "English (US)";


change key <AB10> to:

Code:
key <AB10> {[ Shift_R, question, slash ]};

This generates:

/? = Right Shift
Shift + /? = question mark
AltG + /? = slash
