Just want to chime in and say that just a bump to the SoC along with cheap quality of life imporvements would be fine for me.
You people who want nvme, backlit keyboards, 32Gigs of RAM and then happily sacrifice charging and headphone options are very much out of touch. Go buy a recent ultrabook or a used thinkpad.
This is and should remain a low cost, low power consumption device. Maybe 300 USD after recent inflation.
No, 4GB is not "too little". No, software in the linux space does not magically get more demanding over time.
This is a linux laptop geard towards capable users.
Power efficiency is a high priority.
Don't you dare waste my battery and money with nvme or backlight.
The original pbp is perfect already, a bump to the soc and slight improvements to some less important components is all we need.
