Although it's not easy to install another OS on a Chromebook (and sometimes it isn't really possible), installing the Linux environment isn't that hard.
The Chromebook with M.2 mentioned is Acer Chromebook Spin 713 which is Intel based, it does not count.
Maybe installing Linux on some Chromebooks has been possible sure, but since they don't have an M.2 slot their overall performance has been weak.
Regarding an RK3588 PineBook, as said hope to see it with 24-32GB RAM and 10gbit ethernet.
I think it would be more realistic to ask for USB4/Thunderbolt using an external chip. As the current 10GbE ethernet chips are still quite power hungry and some of us prefer Fibre at 10GbE speeds. Meaning you can plug which ever adapter you need into it.
As for RAM. At those capacities I would like to see the next Pinebook Pro come with SODIMM slots. Makes it easier to afford larger amounts of RAM over time.
