Paid apps for Pinephone

Hello fellow human

How would you go about paying for mobile apps in your Pinephone or other linux phone? Similar to how it already is for the duopoly phones? Or would you prefer something different?

I do have some ideas, but I want to avoid making this into a leading question

I think people here are kinda tired of the typical app store nonsense and are more inclined to mostly use apps that they would use on a desktop. If you did something like make a game or whatever then I'm sure you could get people to pay for that, but for regular apps you'll likely have a harder time.

When you say nonsense, what's the first thing that comes to your mind? Or what's the biggest one?
