I recommend Manjaro Gnome because it's by far the best interface for a tablet other than Lomiri, in my opinion of course. Others may feel differently.
Ok as someone with more hardware than common sense here's my 3 cts.
Pinetab launched way too early, I built a rpi4 tablet that is fugly, but does everything you need a tablet to do while running Linux. Hint it's actually an rpi400
The surface3 is much more productive than ANY windows device in my history and I've been an admin for 20 years.
That being said I bought a $200 return Asus laptop from woot through mint on it and it rocks.
It's not touchscreen and I don't play games, but for writing surfing and watching YouTube it's rediculously thin and has a battery forever.
