Fan doesn't spin

I bought 2 pin fan and connected it to the fan header on the RockPro64 board. Installed OMV on the MMC, it boots up fine but the fan doesn't spin. Did I buy a broken fan/board or do I need to flick a switch somewhere?

I've now installed Armbian and the fan started spinning immediately, no additional software was required. |
