That's weird, camera still works with 5.9.14-2
Can you please reboot and dump dmesg to paste.ubuntu.com?
Done - I put a month expiry on it to try be a good citizen so anyone reading this thread after Jan 2021 it is to be expected it is no longer there!
I also had a thought overnight that there should be something about the cameras in the log - at 9.5s I can see links but for sure more is missing. In parallel I will try another release via the SDcard - it may be I borked the camera connections when installing the 1.2b board.
p.s. a boot of Mobian from the SDcard gets at least the rear camera working fine in Megapixels.
Seems like the rear camera is working fine and the CSI driver also links it as well, but the front camera is broken..
Oddly enough, your Mobian seems to work fine with the rear camera. Can you try the latest 5.10 kernel (pacman -Syu) and see if the problem still persist there?

Rear camera working fine on 5.10 now - thanks for help/patience with this but even more, thanks again for Arch images that help a numpty like me up the ladder to Arch!
Trying to swap megapixels to front camera in Mobian crashes megapixels: now with 5.10.0-1-danctnix/Arch (possibly later rev megapixels as well) I get a stream of
Code: MPCamera: VIDIOC_DQBUF error 22, Invalid argument
when swapping to front camera but at least can swap back to back.
- ROCKPro64 v2.1 2GB, 16Gb eMMC for rootfs, SX8200Pro 512GB NVMe for /home, HDMI video & sound, Bluetooth keyboard & mouse. Arch (6.2 kernel, Openbox desktop) for general purpose daily PC.
- PinePhone Pro Explorer Edition, daily driver, rk2aw & U-boot on SPI, Arch/SXMO & Arch/phosh on eMMC
- PinePhone BraveHeart now v1.2b 3/32Gb, Tow-boot with Arch/SXMO on eMMC
pacman -Syu 2020-12-15, the phone is truly working, has been for a while now. I am starting to trust it, lol.
- wakes 100% from deep sleep, calls answers 100% of the time. I know it is a hack but the modem fix works for me.
- SMS works 100%
- sleep and suspend are more reliable.
- connecting usb attachments to the dock is flaky at times
- megapixels has a lime-green shade on the front camera but takes very nice pictures on the back and flips back and forth without freezing
- sound sometimes skips or halts when using mpv, lollipop or mplayer. I am updating regularly and messing around with the sound channels so I am not sure I can reproduce it, it is not happening after the last update, of course, lol
- Kalliope Voice Assistant is fully functional. Makes phone calls using the address book, requests routes from navit, plays music, controls volume, and most important kicks the modem for me when needed
YMMV
But it works for me

Apologies for quoting myself, but in case it helps someone else the reason I had front camera problems was that when I swapped my 1.2b mobo in for the BraveHeart, I failed to locate the front camera connector properly.

I'm not sure about this, but this issue seems to happen:
sometimes, probably after I get a SMS, the phone wake up from deep sleep, but after a while (not touching the phone), it seems to never go back in sleep, which drains the battery.
I'll try to notice when it happens.

Just make sure to follow the instructions exactly. https://github.com/dreemurrs-embedded/Pi...m-firmware

I'll try to notice when it happens. I've noticed this too. I've gone to bed with an 80% battery level to a 0% batter level when I wake up. No apps were open. I think it has to do with SMS, as well.
system freezes during large downloads like firefox attachments or pacman syu
