Ah, I see, I must have misunderstood, so it's not a requirement, but good to have in case of troubles Idea

Just in case, it seems 6.7 has been released https://www.openbsd.org/67.html

Yes, that's what I have been waiting for! Smile

I will not be able to find the time to play around with it right away, so if someone would be willing to share his experience on the Pinebook Pro in the meantime, it would be highly appreciated.

I must be missing something here, so why would it not be possible to perform a regular installation from the install media as you would do with any other computer without having to use a serial console?

I mean it's a full fledged laptop with screen and keyboard. The last time I played around with a serial console was when using my good old Intel SS4200 which has no graphics and thus no monitor connector.

Sorry I misunderstood.
AFAIK OpenBSD 6.7 does not turn on the display yet for PBP so we need to use a serial device, com0, to see what's going on during installation or during boot after installation. In other words, you can install to eMMC and log in but the display is blank because fb0 doesn't work.

Anyone knows how to enable display?

I can not believe that this is true. I mean if PB / PBP are officially supported by OpenBSD, it would make no sense not to turn on the dispay during install. But I haven't had a chance to start playing around with it yet, so hopefully someone else can confirm.

I was just about to ask if anyone has any reviews of this build. I'm Jonesing to get off Linux on my PBP, but I also use it for work, so I need something that is stable and mostly works. I really don't have the time to go image hopping or debugging. Sad

Got display but no mouse or keyboard. Tricky.

That doesn't sound right either, but at least that should be solvable by connecting an external mouse + keykoard?

It will sound right when you try it.

Would you mind sharing how you wrote the image to the SD card? I tried to do it earlier this week but I wasn't able to get the display to come up.
