Repeatedly Freezing then Rebooting
#1
After power on it keeps locking up before this happens if you are at a command line you can press keys and the cursor blinks to the keypress but nothing appears and then it freezes.  This happens about 1 minute after been switched on and repeatedly does this while left on.

I'm still using the default disto I did disable lightdb just in case it was GUI related but it happens at a command line as well.  This started happening after I ran updates a few weeks back but I've not been using it so only just realised its consistently doing this.

Any ideas what's going on? or how to find out?

(I am actually wanting to wipe it and put manjaro on but can't get it to boot SD or USB either)

I'm afraid I can't help much with your initial issue, but I know how you can restore SD boot and expose your emmc to flash a new OS:

Start by opening the lid to the PBP and laying it keyboard down, with the lid hanging over the edge of your working surface. (Do this to avoid flexing/plastic breaking from opening the lid when the bottom panel is removed.)

Remove the bottom panel (read the wiki for advisements about opening your PBP, if you haven't already.)

Flip the emmc switch to off (there's a diagram in the wiki that shows its location.)

Insert your bootable SD, and turn the PBP on.

Once you see LED activity, turn the emmc back on. (you'll have about a minute to do this before uboot moves on and won't initialize your emmc.)

Now you should boot into the SD, with the emmc being mounted as another "SD." You can now flash your new OS to the emmc.

Ok I'll try this as I am thinking this is a software issue I am having anyway. If it happens during an OS install then I know it's not!
