is it possible to boot android from a usb hard drive or are we limited to the emmc/sd card? do i need a u-boot file separate from the linux one?

I assume you mean boot using uboot on SPI ? Not yet, but ayufan said some time back that he will try to have his android support SPI booting in the future.

if there isnt a u-boot option yet is it possible to boot from SD into usb as with linux? i dont have a emmc module yet.
