LibreELEC Krypton/Leia/Agile 64bit kernel 32bit libs

Here is my community build. Kernel is build as 64bit with 32bit Userspace. It means you can use 32bit armhf packages. I've been doing these builds for a while now for Odroid C2, WeTek.Hub and WeTek.Play2. The benefit in using 32bit packages with an aarch64 kernel is we can use retroplayer emulators that only compile for armhf and we can use precompiled libwidevine to play DRM protected content with Kodi through inputstream.adaptive.

Special thanks go to @peak3d for implementing the great inputstream plugin that makes DRM work with kodi.
Also special thanks to @Kwiboo, @longchair and @omegamoon for the great Rockchip work. These builds are based on kwiboo's LE tree.

Tar upgrade from "pure" aarch64 builds might work. Use the following steps:

touch /storage/.update/.nocompat

Code:

rm /storage/.kodi/addons/packages

Then you will have to reinstall all addons from my Repo. My Repo (RB-Addons) ist preinstalled and features the same addons as official LibreELEC does. I'm rebuilding all addons from source.

If you are updating from one of my previous builds you just need to put the tar in /storage/.update/

That's my first build. Based on kwiboo's build.
-kwiboo's libcec Adapter for feature complete CEC support in Kodi.
-HEVC HW decoding working
-H.264 HW decoding working
-I've tested DAZN with inputstream.adaptive and libwidevine from Chromeos and it's working pretty good.
- VC-1 and mpeg2 are not HW decoded which makes VC-1 basically unusable
- Occasional graphic glitches

Use at your own risk.

Netflix and Amazon VOD Streaming will be working when the first LE9 (rb-leia) build is ready for the Rock64. I'll also start focusing on Leia and I will drop Support for Krypton in the future.

It works really well - thank you for submitting it on the forum. Everything works as expected and even 4k@60 playback works fine (with some stutter). I only tested it for some ~10 min, but I noticed that the SOC is  running quite hot in idle. For reference, the R64 is in an open enclosure in a rather cool and airy  room. Its actually only 4*C cooler in idle than during 4k@30 playback of big buck bunny.

Cheers raybuntu as the LibreElec is a great addition and I had seen your entry and posted straight on here (google or somewhere).
Apols as I missed your post and Luke just delete it, it is no bother with me.
Get rid it cleaner than locking it.

Raybuntu if its going on LibreElec would it port to say Xenial or Stretch minimal?
I am aiming to create a Kodi/Nextcloud box.


Also when bashing the GPU I got the heatsink that I think is going in the store even if it wasn't at Pines great price.

Prob also have the poor thermal tape as compared to the Pine one.

But hell yeah as that is a great addition many thanks Raybuntu

Then use something like winrar to extract the img file and then use etcher

Upstream target is LibreELEC 9 and Kodi Leia, both are still a few months away.

FFmpeg, glmark2 and libcec patches has already been sent to upstream projects for review/comments, more will follow in the coming weeks.

Raybuntu I never really got LibreElec as with the Pi gave it a glance, just used an old PC to dash for nextcloud.
Wow that was easy as install linuxserver.io as a service pick the nextcloud docker instance and hey presto its on localhost dunno the IP but its there
I did install mariaDB but its all there ready to rock extremely easy.
Also having Chromium as an app is just brilliant and wow its speedy will have to see how this goes on the Rock64.

If you don't want to go Nextcloud then through Chromium you have the very similar G-Suite of docs, drive, slides & calc.

Perfect TV device setup Kodi and just enough office for those who can not be bothered with a computer.
LibreElec & Chromium alone just make a great device and are more than enough for many.
Suppose no one has created a LizardFS installer for external USB storage as keep thinking its the way to go with devices.
Would love to see a distributed cluster of Rock64 as devices spread around the home with a JAA (Just Add Another) distributed NAS pool. (https://lizardfs.com/) as its in most distro's already and can be in a container for the first device.

Anyway eagerly awaiting your progress with Leia think you and Afuan deserve a beer.
