Build an Arcade Cabinet with Pine64?
#11
ok so im at home now and found my docs and links for building mame.

essentually i followed this link with the latest longsleep ubuntu BSP image but i stopped at the scanlines and just built mame config with "./mame64 -prescale 3 -video opengl -cc"
https://chrisoneill.info/ubuntu-mame-cab...ers-xenial

of course you want to resize your root partition first. i didnt at first and couldnt figure out why it crashed on compiling.

the only problem, no driver yet. but things are looking up on this part. currently mame runs at about 1 frame every 2 seconds...

OK so I downloaded the DRM kernal and Mame wouldn't start anymore.

So figured I would recompile Mame source. But i ran out of memory.
I did the Mame compile before I installed the desktop last time so that would prob explain the memory problem.

I then tried repartitioning the SD card to include a swap partition. The pine really didn't like this and wouldn't boot anymore.

So tonight if I get time I'll redo an SD card and try again. Maybe play around with a swap file rather then changing partitions around. Been staying at the girlfriends place lately so its a bit hard to do everything remotely.
