new pinephone received with no battery?
#1
I finally got my new 3gb pinephone.
Plugged it into power, installed postmarketos.
Wifi through phosh doesn't seem to be doing anything.

I popped off the back, and there's no battery.
I'm not supposed to have ordered a battery separately, right?

Nope, there should be a battery supplied. I know they had issues sending "naked batteries" (batteries by themselves), but that shouldn't affect you. It wasn't hidden somewhere in the box was it? If you're desperate, go here: https://wiki.pine64.org/index.php?title=...ne#Battery and source one locally that will fit. And obviously contact the sales support team.

I took pictures of the unboxing, so I had a nice clean area.  I double checked the box, shipping box, inside.  There was a piece of tape where I think it should have been, but just sitting there.  The battery bay is definitely empty.. I can see the contacts where it would connect.

I emailed support.

I believe this is why wifi probably won't work for me ... not enough power to supply the radio.

In another thread it was mentioned that wifi doesn't work if there is no battery.

The samsung J7 2015 battery is the battery in the pinephone. You can probably find one locally, and certainly online.
