Anyone else observing these issues.

Hi scholbert,

Yes I'm seeing 100% CPU on jitterentropy with 5.11 as well. Not good! Also seeing 100% on another core with systemd-devd, so that's two cores fully consumed. Yuck.

I'm not using sleep (I'm actually running with phosh disabled for a specific project) so I don't know if the modem is getting lost.

Now I have to choose between fast charging via convergence dock (5.11) or having > 50% CPU cores available (5.10). Sigh.

Regards,
GregH

Guys, please contribute your experiences with the power issues on 5.10 in order to try to get it fixed: https://gitlab.com/mobian1/issues/-/issues/176

Yup - jitterentropy running 100% as soon as I boot.

What is really weird is this happened on a new Mobian I just cooked using the Debos recipes.

My previous Mobian was also cooked via Debos but possibly in January sometime, and update && upgrade since then. As well as all kinds of other experimenting. When I added 5.11 on that I did not have the jitterentropy problem, nor did I have any problem with the modem waking from sleep. (Didn't run the new brew long enough to see if I had any modem waking problems.)

  • ROCKPro64 v2.1 2GB, 16Gb eMMC retired in favour of a fruity upgrade

Thanks for the heads up. I noticed the phone hadn't gone into suspend after receiving a call and the battery had drained a lot.
Also have the 100% jitterentropy. I hadn't noticed the modem loss on suspend though I had that issue with Manjaro Plasma Mobile after doing updates so no doubt that explains it as well!

I edited /boot/extlinux/extlinux.conf to boot on 5.10 instead of 5.11 for now.
Pinephone v1.2 UBports CE. Adelaide, Australia using Amaysim SIM (Optus network, VoLTE enabled) with Mobian SD card. VoLTE working also with Felix / Vodafone AU and Aldimobile / Telstra AU.
Manjaro Plasma Mobile on EMMC.

Just ran an update/upgrade and found that jitterentropy has been updated (to 1.2.1-2) - and the CPU usage is no longer being thrashed on 5.11 Big Grin

i have been seeing 5.11 for while during my updates but it wasn't until today that i am officially Linux mobian 5.11-sunxi64 #1 SMP PREEMPT Thu Mar 11 15:34:35 UTC 2021 aarch64 GNU/Linux when i rebooted after upgrade and issued uname -a. Right away though i am having trouble getting my mini laptop on line via usb tethering Sad .
This is one thing i rely on with Pine phone. Do i need to go back to 5.10? Thank you!

(04-13-2021, 10:19 AM)I had to reinstall  the 20210210 version to get back to the easy and unsecured ways  of doing things. I\m  now back to 5.10 #2.   The USB tethering worked again. Also annoying thing in 5.11 is how  the Bluetooth turns on randomly, which is not right.   HLing Wrote: i have been seeing 5.11 for while during my updates but it wasn't until today that i am officially  Linux mobian 5.11-sunxi64 #1 SMP PREEMPT Thu Mar 11 15:34:35 UTC 2021 aarch64 GNU/Linux when i rebooted after upgrade and issued uname -a.  Right away though i am having trouble  getting my mini laptop on line via usb tethering Sad .
