After you've run pmbootstrap once and chosen a ui, it seems to cache that first choice somewhere so that subsequent installs don't offer you a choice of ui. I'd like to try out some other ui's as the plasma-mobile ui isn't quite what I'm looking for. I did run pmbootstrap zap but that didn't affect this issue. How can I run subsequent pmbootstrap install and be prompted again to choose my ui?

I'll make another post with the problems I've run into with the plasma-mobile ui and I'll try to help with that as much as I'm able, however since it isn't the ui I'm looking for, I'll also be trying out other os's and ui's and likely dedicating more time to them.

On the Brave Heart wiki page it lists all the known issues with this version of the phone. Is the current plan to fix all of these or only the most important ones for the final production run?

I run automated tests RTL8723CS is failing.

If RTL8723CS is failing:
"make sure there is Wifi router around 5 meter area when perform this test, the Wifi test function sniff for SSID to determine test result during autotest. The Wifi can fail if the battery power is too low. "

I tried with battery full and charger on but still automatic tests fail and there should be Wifi signals around.

And I have not got WiFi working with Ubports or Manjaro Alpha3.

Any one else having this problem?
Any ideas how to get it to work?

I've yet to receive my Pinebook Pro so I'll ask around if anyone has any answer to my questions.
Lets say the Pinebook was opened with board and internals completely exposed with both battery and external power connected, while system is booted and running.
Now, say I yank the battery connection out while in operation. Would this affect the system while running, and if so in what way?


If it does not affect the system in any way, I'm guessing current battery information can be read out through /proc/acpi/battery/BAT0/info ? And if so, how would the file be affected if the battery is disconnected during operation?

I'd like to be able to power a smartphone device without the battery installed. Is this possible with the pinephone? Assuming by default it won't work (no phone after the galaxy S2 ever supported this), can the presence of a battery be faked such that it will work without damaging the device?

In case you're curious why: Intended application is to have it continuously powered near the head end of my bed where I will mainly use this device as a white noise generator and an alarm clock. I have currently gone through great trouble to rig up an LG Volt to do exactly this, but it relies on a questionable LineageOS build on the software end to work, and even more questionable methods to install said OS onto the phone. All in all it's a pain, and an open platform phone would be far more preferable.

I'm trying to figure out which repository (beside the official debian ones) I should have in my /etc/apt/sources.list .
I think there are a few with Pinebook/rock-specific packages, but I can't find where I read about them.

Just wanted to confirm something:

None of my cameras was found by any of the OSs I tried (PMOS, Ubuntu and Maru).

Do you have the same problem or could this be a fault with my phone?

It would have been nice to have a camera module in the factory test.

Recently (yesterday) an update for luajit went to the AUR which dropped support for aarch64 (in some way or another.) This has been keeping people from being able to install GIMP. For anyone using Manjaro/Arch, I've uploaded the pkg of luajit-git that I have on my system from late December 2019. Install it before trying GIMP, and your GIMP install should be good. Just remember to ignore luajit-git's request to update (it won't update, it'll just stand in the way of other updates.)

An option for luajit-git has been added to Manjaro community, that will now install.
