Don't know if this is the right place to start. Former developer with notes on Manjaro on Pinephone64 3GB. Running beta1-20201104 on micro sd card1) Calls work but volume is low reported by other party on call 2) Have external headset: sound great on music over web when selected as sound output. 3) External headset not recognized as sound input/output during phone calls when headset selected as sound input/output. 4) When running beta2-2020114 on eMMC card, Firefox crashes scrolling on large web pages: higher frame rate in combination with very fast network IO at this site appears to crash Firefox within seconds. Great product. Looking forward to ongoing improvements.

I've noticed the Wifi sometimes doesn't working right.  I first noticed this with the Manjaro ARM 5.9.8 kernel.

When the wifi is "bad", it still works, can connect to a network, send and receive packets, etc.  But the packetloss is about 7% or more, which is really bad.  Very noticeable with ssh as there are constant hangs.  Web browsing one might just think it's slower than normal.  When the wifi isn't in this bad state, packetloss is effectively 0%.

There appears to be something that happens when the wifi chip is initialized that causes this.  When this happens the Wifi MAC address is different.  Good state, I get one address.  Bad state, it's another address.

Here's some the kernel log messages when it's GOOD.

I recently purchased a RockPro64 & Roshambo case, and I installed Batocera Linux on it and enabled the case, everything seems to work but the RoshamboPro kit seems to have a problem when inserting the SSD on the board. 

When I insert the SSD into the board, the unit behaves erratically, some of the behaviors I have witnessed include USB panel in front of the unit stops responding, fan stops, SSD is recognized momentarily, top buttons (Power/Reset) stop working and sometimes the LED 706 inside the unit will blink. After removing the SSD, the system behaves normally.
 
I have rules out a problem with the SSD (It works fine when connecting to other machine) or with the RockPro64 USB3 (when I connect the SSD directly outside the case, it works), but I don't know if it is a problem with the cable connecting the RockPro64 to the board or the Roshambo board itself.

Anyone has experienced similar issues? Any known workaround?

Finally took the plunge and moved phone service to my pinephone, time to get on the cutting edge of Open Source.... ouch.

Can send and receive SMS, can receive calls.  Can't call out.

I've done some exhaustive testing with multiple different distributions (Manjaro, UbTouch, SXMO, Pure) on my new Manjaro CE PinePhone, and no matter what, after some time, the 4G stops working completely after unlocking the screen until i reboot the phone. I've also updated the modem firmware from the sticky post in your forums but that didn't change anything either. I've been getting conflicting information on matrix/google. Most people say they don't have those issues or very infrequently, for me its constantly doing that and I feel like I spend most of the time rebooting my phone to get it to work again briefly.


Support was unhelpful as f***, made me doubt they even read the damn ticket and really pisses me off...

I have done more experiments on my old Nexus 5 with Ubuntu Touch.
I installed Gedit (text editor for Gnome) on it, it works (except for the on screen keyboard, it never comes up at all)!
But I noticed that if you keep it open and turn off the screen, the battery will become warm and gets discharged very quickly until you close the app.

Does this happen on PinePhone under Phosh or Plasma Mobile too?

I have an issue that I can't resolve. I try to setup the Pinebook pro (With Manjaro Arch Linux) in such a way that it will connect to cabled with a fixed IP and all if my USB adapter is plugged in and fall back to wireless with DHCP if that is not the case.

But Network Manager only sems to active the network if I login.

I want all of this to work regardless of who logs in.

And preferably just configure this from the CLI and not use a point, click and pray solution.

Unfortunatly the documentation in this regard is scattered and not clear to be honest.

So if someone has some good pointers to documents that do not go over all the point ane click screenshots that don't work for me but just show the config files I need to edit then I will very much appreciate it.

Hello, I bought a PBP recently and I received it and used it for a bit. Its basically brand new. I really love it and enjoy it but I don't really have time to use it and I would rather sell it to someone that will use it and put the money to better use. I have the eMMC adapter and the 128 gb eMMC as well as the 64 gb eMMC. I will ship it anywhere in Europe. We can discuss the price, this includes all the import taxes(which are quite expensive) for the PBP and the accessories. I can ship it anywhere in Europe and we can choose shipping.

Ok, so it seems that line out/headphones jack works in Android 9 on RockPro, but I need to run this app before:

Without running it and clicking on Speaker Toggle there is no audio from audio jack. It seems that the headphones/line out cable is not detected.

So, how do I enable line out by default after boot? Now I have to run that Speaker Toggle after each boot when I want to use line out.

there must be some asound/alsa config some somewhere, but I was unable to find it.
