Where is the Pinephone eMMc? |

I just researched and ordered a microSD card and SD to micro adapter for my laptop so I can flash and install OS's for Pinephone. In reading through the wiki and elsewhere I also read about flashing the eMMc, which I gather happens from putting what's needed on the microSD which you then put in the phone.
However, I also read about "usb to emmc" adapter, and see one offered in the Pine Store. This would seem to imply a removable eMMc drive that you mess with when removed from the phone. Where is it? I see the 2 card slots, but I don't see anything else removable. I've done google image search, but don't see anything like that in the phone. I've never owned an eMMc. I thought there might be an arrow pointing to it in the wiki.
thanks

Ethernet through the dock? |

Forgive me if this has been asked, but I'm surprised to find that search on this forum is coming up with nothing.
After an update of Mobian, I am finding ethernet only works when power is not applied to the dock. You can't charge and use ethernet at the same time. This is not one of these fancy new power supplies. It's only 5V/2.1A. Anyone have a work-around?
Oh, and I'm on 1.2b (Manjaro edition), booting off of SDcard.
Edit: When I say "the dock" I'm referring to the Convergence Dock, that comes with the PinePhone.

Alarm app available that wakes the phone |

Since alarms set up with GNOME Clocks can't yet wake up the device from suspend, I wrote a small alarm app exploring how to set up systemd timers that wake up the system through the interal RTC device.
For now there is just one alarm available and not recurring but this is just an UI issue, not a limitation of the systemd timers.
You can install it through "make install" on any OS that has systemd or, for Mobian, use the binary packages linked in the README:
https://gitlab.gnome.org/kailueke/wake-mobile
Eventually GNOME Clocks will be able to wake the device, too, but this is still in development and requires an approach of making the necessary Linux capabilities available to regular users.
I worked around this limitation in my app by using a setuid binary that can only write out a drop-in unit file for the systemd timer.

Questions about delivery to Germany |

Hey, I've been following the PinePhone, PineBook and some accessories for a while now.
My questions: - What do I do if I don't get my product for a long time?
- Will I notified for changes like the next delivery to Germany or if it takes a lot of time to deliver it?
- When will be the next delivery to Cologne, Germany for the PinePhone?
- What happens if something goes wrong, e.g. the wrong place for the packet
- What do I have to do if the parcel is broken?
Thank You!

Does mobian use a root account and password? |

Hi, just a quick question, on my mobian installation (using the installer with the encryption feature), I tried typing su into kings cross, and was asked for the root password, and tried several things, like my encryption password or user pin, but it did not accept it.
Is there actually a root password?

Seems like Phosh is in downgrade mode... |

I saw older videos of Phosh where you had the ability to close windows using the X button on the top right of each application.
Then they moved it to just the app launcher.
Then they replaced the X button for swipe to close (for people coming from iOS or Android, it makes sense).
Now I did an update, and the home screen is no longer accessible.
You can now only see it for a few seconds between launching an app, and the app being launched.
You can't do much on the home screen, but it's still nice eye candy.
Even Android and iOS let you see the home screen while having apps open!
Why can't Phosh do that?
It's a bit frustrating if you're buying a PC-grade phone, only for it to move towards the smartphone crowds.
Is there a way to re-enable the ability to see the home screen? (gsettings or something?)

Selecting a dist |

Hi
Been a while since I've tried any distro for the PinePhone.
Wondering if any of the current distributions out there today have good/working modem and audio support? Last time I tried, sound was just to bad and the modem silently stopped working mid day several times excluding my from both calls and messages without notifications. Would love to start using my PinePhone on a daily basis. All I personally need really, is audio and cell-connection to be working.

Hardware problems with PineBook Pro |

I am not real sure where to send this request. In late 2019, probably between late November and mid December, I ordered a PineBook Pro. This laptop was selected for a few reasons: Mainly the initial cost of the unit, and also the operating system. I did not, and still do not, know that much about the Manjaro programming language but understand that it is either a subset of Linux or is based on Linux. And I am trying to learn the Linux programming language. My use of the PineBook Pro would be as a study aid to use with a desktop computer that has Linux as the operating system. I plan to have a lesson or problem on the screen of the desktop and work on the solution on the PineBook Pro.
Not very long after my order was placed the first word about the corona virus came out in the news media and the factories in China started shutting down. Then other companies around the world started cutting back on their production because many of the parts that were needed were manufactured in China and were subject to the general shut down. Thus, all shipments of PineBook Pros became delayed. My order was finally shipped sometime between mid April and early May. It was delivered about the middle of May 2020.
The first time I turned the PineBook Pro on, I was able to go completely through the initial setup process. However, that was the only time that laptop even got past the login screen. Since that time, and I have attempted to turn it on and try to use it at least once almost every other week, the PineBook Pro only gets to a state where the power LED shows green and the three security switches (the microphone, the WiFi, and the camera switches) would show any indication of being pressed. The display would be black and would not respond in any way to any keyboard input or command. It seems to me that there is some hardware malfunction or problem that is preventing the PineBook Pro from powering on and becoming fully operational. I am requesting a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) so that this PineBook Pro can be returned to the distribution location and thoroughly checked out for any and all problems with the hardware inside this laptop. As it is right now, this laptop is and has not been usable for anything.
My email address as shown in the user profile is watched more than the forum so any answers and/or suggestions would be seen quicker if sent in an email than in a forum post.
Thank you,
James Good
