Hi,

I have received my Pine Phone Pro last week, Dec. 15th. I switched it on, and played a bit with the pre-installed Android system. The battery was at 100%. Then I switched it off.

Today I got a micro SD card, and switched the PPP on to start the installation process, but he refused to boot. The battery was completely discharged.

So I have three questions:

1) Is this expected?

2) If the provided battery is broken, what should I do? Is there compatible batteries I can buy here in France, or do I have to buy a battery at Pine64?

3) And do I have to buy a battery charger at Pine64, or do compatible battery chargers exist?

Today I tried to update my moden Firmware and followed this guide:

I was running Bookworm with /home on the SD card, and everything was working sort of OK. 
I tried to update to the 12 Dec weekly build, and all was OK until I edited /ect/fstab to make the SD card /home. After editing, repeatably, the PP will boot, and then the screen goes blank with the backlight still on. If I remove that third line from fstab it again boots normally. I can mount the SD card as /home and everything seems to be fine, but if I try to add it to the fstab to make it permanent, the boot fails/hangs/something.

I fell back on an earlier build with a 5.13 kernel, and still the exact same thing, so I'm thinking there may be something on my SD card that's causing trouble at boot?

Any ideas what might be going on? I would REALLY like to have my home back on the SD card without having to remount it every time I boot, because I'm having to boot a lot!

Does the pinephone 64 recognize a connection to the internet using a wired ethernet connection through the USB-c? Currently running Ubuntu Touch and cannot get the wifi to connect. Is there another workaround? Thanks

Is there a factory label for the eMMC drive or can I just use G:? If a specific label is needed how do I build it? Providing background if needed. Thanks

Purchased a used pine64 community edition. When I received the phone the OS on the phone was locked with a pin. Installed Jumpdrive onto a SanDisk Ultra SD card and inserted the SSD drive into the phone. The Jumpdrive program came up on the pinephone. Tried to install the Ubuntu Touch image but the image would not install (used Balena Etcher). I used jumpdrive to find out the drive was fragmented into partitions E: to O: which were very small, less than a few hundred mB. When I removed all the partitions the OS installation was successful.

I have a rock64, I'm using the ARMbian onto the device, I cannot tell if this is working or not.

- Green light power goes on.(right side)
- PWR led on.
- STBY led on.
- Ethernet connector shows activity.

This is what I get:
- No HDMI output, I tried with two different monitors.
- I connect an ethernet cable directly to the router and I cannot see the device scanning the LAN.

Since I don't have the serial console cable, is there any way to debug if this is really working since I cannot tell.

- Is the device doing an DHCP automatically?
- Do you recommend any other distribution that is more stable or has support?

 ... I've been using my PP as a daily driver for a few weeks now, and all has been well until a few nights ago.  I only really want a phone that can send and receive calls and texts and basic mobile data, and this had all been working fine up till now...

 ... However, just when I needed it in a real emergency situation, it let me down...

 ... A little context... I have been using Mobian/Phosh, installed on the EMMC, which I have been keeping up-to-date via the software update app.  My network service provider is Vodafone in the UK, on a Pay-as-you-go SIM and I had no problems with them on both Mobian and Manjaro Phosh - the two main distro's I've been testing.

 ... I tend to switch the phone off when I'm not expecting a call, as the battery is still pretty bad, regardless of which distro you use.  So anyway, I'm out and about and need to make a call... I turn the PP on - everything seems fine - go to make a call and... nothing!!!  Basically, all functions worked until the point that I pressed the call button (or dialed the number on the keypad). Instead of screen changing to the call screen with the big red button to hang up, the call list showed the call as rejected (bent arrow pointing down).  After rebooting, and pulling the battery, I had to give up and ask to borrow a mates phone - an iPhone 5 - a 2015 model that still seemed to be working as effortlessly as the day it was made - oh, the shame of it all...

 ... I resisted throwing my PP against the wall and had a look at it the next day.  For some reason, a few of the settings had changed, however, these were settings that I didn't think would affect the call, but once I had played with them, the phone started working again... these settings were...

  ... 1) The APN was deselected - this had changed to default in the past and calls still worked, however, on this occasion, both the Vodafone and default option were off.

 ... 2) The time and date were wrong, as the WiFi was not in use and the phone had been off all day.

 ... After fixing both these problems, calls, text and mobile data all started working again - although I couldn't say for sure that either was the problem in the first place.

 ... despite being up-staged by an old iPhone, I have forgiven my PP and decided to continue using it as a daily driver... but if it happens again, it may be the end of the road for me and PP... but I am a sucker for punishment...

Has anyone used "hackers keyboard" on their pinephone 64? I just bought a pinephone64 and flashed Ubuntu touch to the phone. Everything is working quite well and I am really enjoying this distro. I am exploring setting a phone up for my wife's use and she really appreciated the features of this keyboard for texting. Any thoughts are appreciated since I am a noobie.
