Pretty quick question, could I create my own "Pinebook" that is android based and uses the Rock64 single board computer.

Please forgive the noobishness of the question. I have been interested in single board computers for a few years now, but wish to dive a little deeper. The SoPine module interests me, as I can certainly understand it's use in projects that are big enough to make it worthwhile to make my own boards.

Bluntly, I cannot seem to find anything to 'plug it into' besides the compute io module I could also purchase. Great for testing, but it seems like I might be better off in that case just getting a Pine64.

So here comes the noob question: what else could I plug it into? It isn't RAM, so certainly not a motherboard. I have seen on these forums that people are working on boards to hold and power multiple sopines; Is there anything else like this out there already, or other examples of things I could do with the sopine, short of having my own boards made, which is far beyond what my current abilities/projects demand.

i've just installed the last Stretch Mate (0.5.15-136-20171222), it works on my full HD TV, but if i switch on my 4k tv (I've hdmi 2.0 cable), I've NO SIGNAL.

Any suggestion?

I purchased the Pine64 LTS, eMMC 64GB module and the device for programming the module. I used Apple-Pi Baker to write what I thought was the correct image for Android and the 7 inch touch screen to the eMMC. I carefully placed the module in the slot and.....nothing. No boot no image nothing.  Will someone kindly tell me what image to use so the 7inch touch screen device will actually work in Android?

Has anybody already thought about building a tablet based on the hardware of the Pinebook?

It would be great to have a large size touch display (14 inch). As operating system i think of KDE plasma mobile with concept x, to have a desktop if there will be a keyboard connected. To get a low profile casing, the hdmi und usb port could possibly be changed to micro hdmi (type D) and micro usb (type B). The battery should be placed beside the mainboard ...

It would be nice, if the RAM memory could be increased to 4GB. And it would be perfect to integrate a LTE module.

What do you think about that?

I have the Rock64 4GB board and I would like use it like a NAS with Kodi. By the moment not exist an OS for Rock64 similar to the old OMSC, xbian or other similars to Rpi.

I installed the last Debian Stretch 0.5.15-136-20171222 and try to install Kodi.
I am not a Linux expert, I just check any update and make a "apt-get install kodi". The install fiinished without any error, but when I try to run kodi (from Desktop or console) it does not start, the message I get by console is "libEGL warning: DRI2: failed to authenticate"

I tried to search related info in forums related with Rpi or arm devices but I do not have nothing clear about the error.

Does somebody know if is possible have Debian and Kodi running on Rock64? Can somebody try to help me or give me some advise?

Can I build a stable WIFI AP in 5Ghz with this one and the rock64 ?
I am mainly worried about hostapd AP chipset support and kernel driver for the chipset RTL8812AU used by the adapter.

Hello everyone!

I've just bought several Rock64 boards on December 15th and I received acknowledge from Sales team for these orders. 

My question is, how long does it usually takes for an order to be shipped after being placed? So far I haven't received an answer to this question from the sales team.

I hope some of you can shed some light on this issue, is really frustrating not knowing from Pine64 after giving them my money

Recently performed a dist-upgrade to the newest stretch 0.6.3 release from yesterday and happy to report successful HDMI output   I just have two lingering questions... 

1- I started with an earlier ayufan release, and I notice each release is accompanied with downloadable Debian packages on github, such as linux-headers, Linux-firmware, Linux-libc... are all of these included in each release of the stretch image by default and will they be auto updated with the dist-upgrade, or should I be manually downloading and installing these?

2 - Does this build support reading boot settings from a custom /boot/config.txt? It's not there by default, and I'm not sure that the settings I'm putting in that file I created are having any effect, so I wanted to check if they are supposed to be getting applied or if there's somewhere else I should be changing  HDMI settings and other boot configurations.
