Pinebook experiences - Bitflogger - 01-19-2018
I dropped my Pinebook about 2.5 feet onto a carpeted floor. It hit on an edge. No apparent damage and it still works!
The space bar sometimes needs extra hitting to work. Where on the space bar I press seems to make a difference.
I use the command line "sudo apt-get ..." instead of the Software Updater, it says "not enough disk space on /boot".
When I try to press the backspace key, I somtimes accidentally press the power key. It then shuts down without a dialogue box.
It seems like a good buy for $99 plus $30 shipping. Its much better for general use than a pi book, which I also own.

You made your own raspberry pi laptop?
Which OS are you using that makes your general experience much better then RPi if you are talking about Raspberry?

The "not enough disk space on /boot" problem is present on other SBCs too. If you flash one of the newer images you'll be able to update from GUI.
Also, purely out of curiosity, pi book ? you mean the Pi-Top ?

I assembled the PI laptop from a $300 kit.
The Pinebook seems to be constructed better, of course the purpose is a little different from a PI-top.
The Pinebook has a camera, microphone and speakers (on the bottom).
The GPIO pins on the PI, a very big feature, are all used in the setup of the PI-top.

That is interesting, maybe hardware is better on Pinebook, but software is way better on PI. I wish that we can switch between thouse two devices.
