I am trying to connect a 3.3V serial adapter to rockpro64.
I suppose that connecting over UART is done on pin 6,8 and 10.
Is the baud 115200 or 1500000 (1.5M) ?
Thank you

I have a couple slightly older regular [86-64] desktop combinations. Some of them with slightly more graphics card memory, some variation in bus speeds, etc. clarification: the newest & most powerful graphics card of those is a GTX 660, and it happens to be connected to a pcie2.0[though the 660 supports up to pcie3.0] slot. It does a *pretty* good job with *most* games / graphic intensive stuff. I was somewhat surprised to see it completely choke with 4k movies.
I've already ordered a rock64, though it's still not arrived [nearly irrelevant to this post].
Just curious: does it do a pretty solid job with 4k movies? Also out of curiosity: What do you think the weak link is in my aging desktop for 4k? pcie2.0? age in general? What makes newer micro devices capable of 4k? is it more about bus speed, or specific encoding / gpu circuitry that just does 4k?

OMV wifi setup (driver issue) |

Hi there!
I am trying to set up a home nas using rock64 4gb running openmediavault 239 arm64. The problem is that I don't have any available ethernet connection, and I need to use a wifi setup. I bought this wifi adapter https://www.fasttech.com/p/9636614 , it has a rt8188 as the main chipset (the same as in the original sold on pine64), however it shows up as ralink5370 using armbian. The problem is that omv environment does not recognize this wifi adapter, but I know that it should work since it works out of the box running armbian. If you have any idea on how to properly install a driver on omv environment, please help!

Heads up,
I am doing a major overhaul of the OS Images section on the wiki today and tomorrow, so in all likelyhood I'll break links and other things in the process...
Thanks in advance for your understanding...
I have updated the wiki today. Please let me know if something is broken or doesn't work.

RockPro Wireless+Bluetooth Issue - Linux (ayufan 0.7.8 and previous) |

I may be overlooking something very simple. Here is what I have observed so far. I am referencing the image file from ayufan, 0.7.8 LDXE RockPro. I have went all the way down from dev releases to the 0.6.X stable releases, but I have the same results. It's actually worse on older builds, which I expected.
I have two separate units, with two separate RockPro bt+wifi modules that integrate in to the board. I have ran several commands to try to see the issue, but with no success.
The lsusb output does not show the adapter, which is expected since it doesn't use USB.
The "lshw -C network" shows that the adapter is wlan0.
The "rfkill list" shows that the adapter is there, and wireless isn't blocked. However, it shows that Bluetooth is soft blocked so I issued the unblock all command. This fixed the software block, but the wireless still wouldn't work.
iwconfig isnt even available. The "ifconfig wlan0 up" command returns "The operation is not permitted".
To validate that it isn't hardware related, I loaded the other Android builds and they work great with wireless. But those builds are extremely limited functionally and visibly without the tablet.
Sorry if this is a solid noob question, so feel free to cut jokes, lmao. I just tried about everything I could think of. wicd wasn't even an option, but that's likely due to the build not recognizing the adapter fully.
Any help is appreciated!! Thanks all, especially to ayufan for everything! You are a kind soul, and I'll buy you a beer anytime. ;-)
