  Battery Status in Bionic
Posted by: X-Istence - 03-06-2019, 06:33 PM - Forum: Linux on Pinebook - Replies (3)

Hey all,

I've got my Pinebook flashed with the latest Bionic Mate pre-release, but it seems that it can't sense the battery state correctly. Is there a command line tool I can use in the mean time to get an idea for how much longer I have left on battery?

Thanks!

eMMC boot linux distros for Pinebook.
Posted by: frank-zappa - 03-06-2019, 03:39 PM - Forum: General Discussion on Pinebook - Replies (14)

Are Xenial Mate and AOSC the only linux disros available to flash to the eMMC on the Pinebook?

I recently bought a 64Gb eMMC and could not flash Xenial Mate to it. I just got a "No eMMC detected" message. I opened a ticket on the support forum and they advised me to try and install Android 6. This worked but I want a linux on my Pinebook.

Also I do not want to boot from a Micro SD.

Can anyone help

  No green Ethernet LED
Posted by: sanis - 03-06-2019, 03:36 PM - Forum: General Discussion on ROCK64 - Replies (2)

Hi All!

I'm running three ROCK64/4Gb boards in a cluster and everything looks great and I'm very happy with the devices!
But, for some reason, the green Ethernet LED turns off after a week of running. I reboot the problematic board and it's back.

Has anyone seen such an issue? Is there any fix?

  Windows 10 IoT Enterprise?

Hi,

I have an ISO image of Windows 10 IoT Enterprise. Are there any instructions on how to install this onto a Pine A64?

Thank you.

  Need help in selecting boards
Posted by: ripcord - 03-06-2019, 02:51 AM - Forum: Getting Started - Replies (1)

I have a Raspberry Pi3+ running OpenMediaVault. I have a USB 3.0 HDD connected to the Pi where I have installed Plex on OMV.

It is running fine so far but I have issues with
1. Buffering
2. x265 decoding
3. 4K for future.

I am aware that Pi doesn't have dedicated USB 3.0 and Gigabit ethernet.

I was looking for some alternatives and came across the Pine boards.

There are many boards on Pine. Which one would suit my need of running Plex without above limitations and running NAS server.

Also are there any online retailers in Germany?

  MX-Linux; antiX Linux
Posted by: chessie - 03-05-2019, 06:27 AM - Forum: Linux on Pinebook - Replies (3)

The  MX-Linux and antiX-Linux distributions are very similar, and have become quite popular. MX-Linux has held the #1 position on Distrowatch for the past 3 months (beating out Linux Mint by a two-to-one margin, no less), and antiX-base is (almost) a full featured version of MX (a truly full-featured distro at 1200 MB--MX 17.3), and about 2/3 the size--approx. 800 MB vs 1200MB / 1400 MB (MX-17.3 / MX-18).

Does any one know if the PineBook group has any plans to engage with MX / antiX? It seems as if this would be a really good move on PineBook's part.

Does any one have any ideas on the difficulty--or lack thereof--of installing MX-Linux 17.3 / 18.1 on the PineBook Pro if it is not a 'supported distribution'?
