PBP Coupon and Shipping Timeline

I'm starting to see a lot of users starting to get worried about how they have not gotten their coupon yet.

It's not because we don't like you or that you were too late -- No one has gotten one yet! However, as of right now, everyone who has registered into the system will get one! As of about midnight UTC on the 26th, the first batch of coupons did go out!

The sales team is in UTC+8 -- When preorders opened, it was 8pm their time, and as of my typing this (10 hours later), it is 5am! When they get back to work, that is when you might be able to start expecting coupons.

As for the distribution of coupons, I'll lay it out for you:

First early batch is 100 units. About 10 of those are going to developers. That means about 90 will be available for pre-orders. Coupons will be sent to the first 90 users to registered into the system, starting tonight (in Europe and US time zones) and over the next 72 hours or so. Those units will ship in about 4 weeks from now. 

The second batch is much larger -- 1000 units, all dedicated to preorders. These coupons will start being sent out in a couple weeks and stretch out to about 6-7 weeks from now. Units ship about 8-10 weeks from now.

I hope this clears things up.

Are the second 1000 coupons already spoken for? Is there anyway I can get a pinkbook pro pre-order still?

Sorry, I hadn't noticed your registration date. These 128GB models are only being made available to users registered before July 1st. General preorders start in a few months.

If you weren't one of the first ~90 people then you're in batch 2 of coupons. They have not set a specific date for batch 2 coupons to be e-mailed at this time. It's "in the next few weeks" as of now unless the mods plan to narrow down a date.

It would be nice to know how long I can stop being a watchdog on my inbox.

iirc the coupons are valid for 72 hours so you can be a lazy watchdog and check every couple of days. That said I'm also checking my inbox more regularly than usual

iirc the coupons are valid for 72 hours so you can be a lazy watchdog and check every couple of days. That said I'm also checking my inbox more regularly than usual

Alright. I'll go from my every 3 hours to every 7.2 hours of inbox searching!!

I'm sure after 2-3 more days of "WHERE'S MY COUPON?!?!" they will announce the next wave's date.

I was waiting for one of you to post something of the like, The last few days I have been thinking, eash people are desperate!


Makes me think, maybe it would be good for the project team, or the developers to have some specific areas of focus for those who are willing to test support? I have seen a few projects discussed already. Just a "Hey we need more data on X... help please".

I am willing to bet like my self there are a number individuals new to the Pine world, and looking for areas to help out in. I am happy to bring my QA/Test experience to the table.
