Battery life: Maybe really a hardware issue?

I thought that was most likely, just wasn't sure if the kill switch would prevent it. I'll keep the battery out when the phone isn't going to be used. Since the back has to be taken off anyway to get to the switches I figure that's best to reduce wear on the switch pack. (I don't know how many on/off cycles those dip switches are rated for.)
