Plasma question - just curious...

Hi,

If anyone has time, why do Plasma (and Lomiri?) have to use ofono instead of modemmanager?
Given that modemmanager, calls and chatty are all working to an acceptable level, why is it not possible to use these within Plasma?
Why can't Plasma be installed on top of Mobian/Arch and modemmanager, calls and chatty be used?
Just curious...

Calling and sms in plasma mobile all use ofono directly, so it's probably possible if someone is willing to take the time to implement modemmanager support...

Though our hands are already full with ofono already...

Thanks for the reply. Since asking the question, I'd seen somewhere that OpenMandriva Lx is going to be using Plasma with ModemManager?
