It doesn't seem to be a reported issue, so open it at https://gitlab.com/groups/mobian1/-/issues in the first instance - they'll probably push it to upstream. How you test this is another matter - I'd guess you'd need a base station simulator.

I might need to subscribe to this issue. I used to live in the hood so frequent 911 calls were sort of a thing for me.

in cellphone networks emergency service calls are routed differently than ordinary calls. basically, emergency service call takes nearest cell tower regardless of operator and uses it. 112 is international emergency call number and defined for gsm/umts/lte based services. how to make this special call, maybe it's software issue. you may try 112 next time, still it may not work either.

i wonder why 911 did not work. i seems that pinephone tries ordinary call, but even in that case u.s. operators should route the call to emergency service.

seems that emergency calls is built-in and default is 911, 112 and 000. i have firmware 01.002.01.002 .

if i command "AT+QECCNUM=0,1".
i receive:
+QECCNUM: 1,"911","112","000"

I posted a similar issue with not being able to correspond with "short codes" - like my bank has a short code sms where you can send "bal" to a 6 digit number and it will respond with the account balance. Politicians use short codes as well. But I read something about the state of the pinephone modem today that says you can only dial numbers with the country code in front of them - like "+1 308 555-5555". If you leave off the "+1", you can't get through. I wonder if the 911 issue is related.

It wasn't like that a few weeks ago- I have text messages from my bank to prove it. something has changed, I think.

I wonder if 110 and 119 work though.
Here in Japan, we use 110 for police, and 119 for ambulance and fire fighting.
Never had to call any of them during my life time, so I don't know.

Or maybe for Airstrip One users: 0118999881999119725...3
