Hi,
I am considering using mine as a living room PC as well. My questions - please help answer:
1. considering it has only USB2 ports, how can I connect to external storage for full speed streaming?
2. For streaming itself, should I go with Android & Kodi, or Linux & Plex Server?
I am anyways planning to cut open my WD Live Duo as its DLNA and server are pretty useless anymore.
Thanks
I'm an OpenHAB user now on RPI 2 using an aeon z-wave vs stick. Looking to move openHAB to PINE64SS and use the z-wave module for a more compact and powerful system. I will then add mosquito and hopefully a sensor or two off the gpios

I will use Pine64 for drone and other automation projects.
I'll check it with ioBroker (homeautomation, IoT) and Xeoma (Video-surveillance).
Greetings,
Eric

Full speed streaming? You mean like watching videos? Pretty sure you'll be able to watch them off an external hdd. Use one port for a controller and the other for storage.

I'm going to try to use it to make a VR head-mounted display.
