I have my ps2 controller configured and can browse the UI all day. But once I launch into a game, my gamepad ceases to work and I have to exit to home and force close Retroarch. I figure I must be missing a setting somewhere. Ideas?

Go back into mapping and make sure that the numbers to the right of the button aren't set to 0. I was having the same issue but with a Xbox 360 controller and wireless adapter. Also are you using retroarch in Android?

Yes I am
I had to remove the PS2 controller and use a third party wired xbox controller. I had the ps2 controller connected to a usb adapter. The pine must have problems with it for some reason, because I've used it just fine without special third party software on my pc.
