Replacement battery for PinePhone?
#1
I left my PinePhone in a drawer too long and now the battery is almost completely dead.

I don't have an external battery charger and if I connect a wall charger to the phone, the battery charges for a few seconds then tries to boot and dies after a few seconds tries to boot again, diess, over and over.

I did an amazon search on the replacement models in the wiki and the one I bought turned out to be about 6mm short in bothe diemension. Is there a specific battery that I can buy on amazon that will work in a PinePhone?

Is there a way to keep the PinePhone from trying to boot before the battery is charged enough to boot and run with a charger connected by USB?

Try booting from JumpDrive and then leave it to charge.

I have an original (or at least it claims to be original) Samsung EB-BJ700CBE as a spare battery for my PinePhone and it fits exactly. Not sure how you ended up with a too small battery. If it does not fit the PinePhone, it will not fit the Samsung model that it claims to fit either.

To get the original battery to charge, there is also a minimalist charging-only version of JumpDrive (with the USB "jump drive" code disabled, just initializing the minimum to initiate charging).

the emergency tourist solution is to sacrifice a USB cable and strip the red and black, realistically use the voltmeter to be sure of polarity, the 3.7v li-ion will safely take 5v, give it maybe five minutes and be sure about polarity.  that will be enough to get you to normal charging.
