Over the years, I have seen to many people flash the zipped up image to the phone thinking it will work.

Apologies. From memory what I wrote is what worked for me. Thought it was based on your video, but perhaps not. 
If I have put misinformation, should I delete my previous post (and this one)? 
Or modify it? 
Don't want to lead anyone in the wrong direction. 

I thought unzipping jumpdrive then simply dd'ing jumpdrive to an SD card was the way to go for the first steps. 

Anyway, as mentioned, it's a redundant post and doesn't really need to exist.

Mike's comments do not say you wrote something wrong. Quite the opposite, his point is that many users forget the unxz command that your instructions correctly mention, and that many users do not understand what is meant by something like "sdX" and try to copy&paste that instruction verbatim (but that is not really your fault).

I used Etcher to install Tow-Boot. Then I reformatted the SD card and used Etcher to uncompress and flash PostmarketOS to the card. Put the card in the phone and everything worked!
