Bluetooth audio support?
#1
Has anyone had any success getting bluetooth audio to work in Mobian? I have a couple of Samsung HM1350 headsets that I used to use with my old flip phone. When I connect either one to the Pinephone instead of audio the headset just emits a loud buzzing. For now if I need to use a headset I used a wired one but that's a bit of a pain, and at least for outgoing calls it needs to be plugged in after the call is in progress or the microphone will not work.

Are there any bluetooth headsets that are known to work yet?

I tried a bluetooth speaker (Bose) a while ago and it just worked. No experience with headphones though.

I regularly use a pair of JBL BT450 headphones as well as two external BT speakers (one JBL Flip 4 and a cheap supermarket thingy) -- no problems at all. I have never tried to use the mic of the headphones though, but audio is no problem at all.

N.B. the difference between various Bluetooth device profiles; in particular, 'playing music' and 'headset profile' (i.e., using phone) are two wholly different things!

For the latter, see: https://gitlab.com/mobian1/issues/-/issues/160

What is Free Software and why is it so important for society?

Protocols, not Platforms

For the most Linux-y experience on your Linux phone, try SXMO!

I am (nominally) the Armbian Maintainer for PineBook Pro (although severely lacking in time these days).

I figured as much, I know this topic has come up before and I was wondering of there has been any progress. It's not a deal breaker for me but it's inconvenient to have to use a wired headset. Even the wired headset doesn't work quite seamlessly. At least for outgoing calls you have to plug it in while the call is in progress. If you just plug it in and make the call the microphone doesn't work.
