Battery life on sxmo

Hello everybody,

I am looking into buying pp and using it with sxmo. As I saw with other distros, battery life of pp isn't so great. Mostly because of modem, if I saw correctly? Is it with sxmo the same as it is with other distros? I'm currently spoiled with my old Samsung Galaxy J5(2015) with lineageOS, that can survive up to 12 day, with little usage. Moderate usage I get 7 days sms-ing and calling, with 30% still on battery.

How it is with heat throttle and cpu speed lowered and battery life?

If anyone has testes with various scenarion, can report on his findings I would be very happy .

I am still only investigating SXMO, but I would venture a guess it's better on battery life than other distros simply due to its lightweight nature.

Having said that, from what I've read, I don't think you will see those kind of numbers from any distro on PinePhone, neither currently, nor any time soon.

But that is not what GNU/Linux phones are about really. They are much more about taking back control over your phone/computing. And in this comparison, nothing else nowadays comes anywhere close.

Also it's pretty early days still.

So, if you expect comparable features to current smart phones (which have had many years and $millions in development poured in to them by now, remember) then you may be disappointed.

However if you are like me (and others here), and had enough of the duopoly, and want to actually be in control of your own phone, do what you want with it, and not be subject to their whims; or even if you like to tinker, and/or simply realize that competition is good and we need more of it (especially in phone space) then maybe come and join us in moving the state of the art forward.
